More About the Project

The Ontario Conservation Accelerator works with governments, conservation groups, and landowners to increase the connectivity of ecosystems across Ontario. By protecting lands adjacent to parks, conservation reserves, and other protected areas, the OCA is working to safeguard key habitats so that animals can continue to move freely, find food, and better adapt to climate change. This work benefits species like the snowy owl and helps make sure that even in the face of a changing landscape, animals will have a safe place to call home for years to come.

About Snowy Owls

Snowy owls have beautiful white and brown feathers that camouflage them against their snowy habitats. Their feathers form rings around their bright yellow eyes and help reflect sound to their ears. These birds of prey are almost three feet tall, with wingspans of almost four feet.
