More About the Project

Megan and her team are removing invasive species such as common buckthorn, dog-strangling vine, and phragmites, which crowd out native plants and threaten the surrounding habitats. Also, they’re hosting workshops to encourage and empower the local community to help with this important conservation effort.

About Flying Squirrels

We have two species of flying squirrel here in the Ottawa Valley — the northern flying squirrel and the southern flying squirrel. These creatures have either reddish-brown or gray-brown fur, and they have large dark eyes and flat tails.
