How Funding Will Help
Funds raised through snowshoe hare adoptions will fund the work of the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) in Frontenac Arch; an ancient granite bridge with rugged, rocky slopes, thick green forests, and beautiful wetland valleys. It is also home to an incredible array of biodiversity, including over 200 bird species, numerous plants, reptiles, insects, amphibians, and mammals. The Frontenac Arch is also home to several species-at-risk, such as the cerulean warbler, and its protection is crucial in order to mitigate some of the threats that these species face, such as habitat fragmentation and pressure from development.
